There was a time when Aurelie believed she knew what her life would become.

She was born approximately thirty-five years ago in a city in the lands near Schendi. Her childhood was not marked by fear or harsh discipline. Quite the opposite. She grew up loved, protected, and largely free from the heavy hand that would later become such a defining part of her life.

She was the daughter of her city’s leader.

And one day, she had expected to follow in his footsteps.

Aurelie was proud, curious, and perhaps a little more ambitious than she would admit. She wanted to learn. She wanted to understand the world around her. She wanted, one day, to take her father’s position and lead her city herself.

She never imagined that she would lose everything.

When Everything Changed

Betrayal came first.

The details of that betrayal belong to another part of Aurelie’s story, but its consequences were devastating. Her family was destroyed. Her city fell. The future she had imagined for herself disappeared almost overnight.

Aurelie fled.

For a time, she became a wanderer, moving from place to place without a home she could truly call her own.

It was during those years that another chapter of her life began.

And it began with a game.

Aurelie entered a game of Berserker, wagering something that would change the course of her life forever.

She lost.

The price was a collar.

She has worn one ever since.

Learning to Survive

Becoming a Kajira was not something Aurelie accepted easily.

Her training was brutal.

There were lessons she learned through pain rather than words. There were moments when her disobedience brought her dangerously close to death. More than once, she stood at the edge of losing everything she had left.

She fought against what was happening to her.

For a long time, the woman who had once dreamed of leading a city could not understand how she had ended up kneeling instead.

But surviving has a way of changing a person.

So do the people one meets along the way.

One of the most formative periods of Aurelie’s life came when she lived in a Panther camp and served among Panther women. Life there was difficult, and the hardships of the camp left their mark on her.

Yet those experiences taught her something that suffering alone never could.

They taught her to observe.

To listen.

To learn.

And, above all, to remain calm.

The Kajira She Chose to Become

Aurelie eventually stopped asking herself how she could return to the woman she had once been.

Instead, she began asking a different question:

What kind of woman could she become now?

Her encounters during her life as a Kajira slowly changed her understanding of herself and of the life she was living.

Acceptance did not happen all at once.

It was learned.

And with time, Aurelie discovered something unexpected.

She could take pride in becoming good at what she did.

Under her current Mistress, Amina, that idea has become a personal goal.

Aurelie does not simply want to be a Kajira.

She wants to become a Kajira worth being proud of.

One who learns.

One who listens.

One who notices what is needed before being asked.

One who continues to improve.

And, perhaps secretly, one whom other people cannot help but admire.

Her greatest strength is not force.

It is her calm.

There is a quietness about Aurelie that can be easy to underestimate. She can be cautious, especially when something feels unfamiliar. Her past has taught her not to trust blindly.

But curiosity has survived everything that happened to her.

She still wants to learn.

She still wants to understand.

And she is still willing to discover something new.

Her greatest fear is no longer losing a city.

It is losing her Mistress.

Aurelie in Belnend

Today, Aurelie’s story has brought her to Belnend, in the Vosk region.

Her role there is not one of political ambition or influence.

Her world has become smaller in some ways — and much more focused in others.

Amina is a writer and a scribe, and Aurelie’s attention is therefore largely directed toward helping her, supporting her work, and serving her as well as she can.

The girl who once imagined herself becoming the leader of a city now measures herself by very different standards.

Not by how many people follow her.

But by how well she can serve the person she has chosen to serve.

And perhaps that is the greatest irony of Aurelie’s story.

The woman who once wanted to inherit her father’s position has discovered a completely different kind of strength.

Not command.

Not power.

But discipline, patience, knowledge, and the quiet confidence that comes from knowing exactly who she wants to become.

Behind Aurelie

Aurelie is not simply a character.

She is also a part of my journey through Second Life and Gor Roleplay.

I first discovered the books by chance on 25 May 2010. What began as curiosity quickly became something much more. I fell in love with the world of Gor, its imagination and its possibilities.

Later, I met people who introduced me to the roleplaying community and helped me take my first steps into Gor Roleplay in Second Life.

For me, that is what makes Second Life special.

It offers a place where imagination can become something you can actually experience. A place where, for a while, reality can step into the background and another world can take its place.

And Aurelie fascinates me precisely because she is so different from me.

Her obedience is an important part of who she is.

Mine is not.

That contrast is one of the reasons I enjoy playing her.

Aurelie allows me to explore a personality and a way of life that would not be mine in real life.

But there is an important boundary.

Roleplay stays roleplay.

I do not carry things from Aurelie’s world into my real life, and I do not bring my real life into Aurelie’s story.

That separation is important to me.

It allows the character to be taken seriously without confusing the character with the person behind the avatar.

And perhaps that is why Aurelie has remained interesting to me for so many years.

She is not me.

She was never meant to be.

She is a woman with her own history, her own scars, her own fears and her own ambitions.

And her story is far from finished.
